Trip Information
The trip starts in Chemainus, where you'll get a 1 hour guided walking tour visiting all the different painted murals in a town that boasts to have one of BC's biggest outdoor art gallery exhibits. The collection of murals were contributed from talented artists, both local and globally recognized. The theme of the murals was centred around the history, culture and traditions of Chemainus, BC.
After this short walk, we'll continue on our way to East Sooke Regional Park, one of the most attractive parks in Southern Vancouver Island. Our 6km guided hike will bring us through lush rain forest, along windswept bluffs and down to the ocean’s edge. The coast itself, with deep bays, cliffs and chasms, has an atmosphere of remoteness and adventure. On the hike, we'll pass Alldridge Point, where you'll find petroglyphs carved into the rock by the Indigenous Coast Salish People. We'll have our lunch on a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean before we continue on our way climbing over rocky bluffs and walking through Old Growth Forest.
