Tour Info

This is Discover Canada Tours' original and most popular tour with overnight stays in Revelstoke, the centre of Banff, and Valemount. It includes many sightseeing stops and an awesome cowboy ranch experience in Valemount.

Tour Highlights

This amazing tour features the following highlights: endless sightseeing opportunities through one of the most beautiful areas of Canada; many chances to see wildlife (deer, elk, bighorn sheep & more!); amazing snow covered mountains & waterfalls; emerald lakes in Lake Louise and along the Ice Fields Parkway; and the quaint towns of Banff and Jasper. On this tour you will learn about Canadian heritage & traditions with your experienced tour guide and have FUN!

Itinerary

Day 1: Vancouver to Revelstoke

  • 8am – Depart Vancouver
  • Enjoy a number of sights travelling through the Fraser Valley
  • Travel through the Okanagan Valley
  • Check-in to the hotel in Revelstoke
  • Option to join your guide for a party at the pub

Day 2: Revelstoke to Banff

  • Depart Revelstoke in the morning
  • Stop at Roger's PassVisit one the most famous Canadian Lakes – Lake Louise
  • Visit Moraine Lake or Emerald Lake
  • Option to go canoeing for an additional cost (seasonal)
  • Sightseeing tour in the town of Banff among the highlights are visits to Banff Ave, Bow Falls and Banff Springs Hotel
  • Option to visit Sulphur Mountain Gondola for amazing views
  • Check into your hotel on Banff Avenue
  • Free time in the evening for dinner and shopping or option to go to the Banff Hotsprings (additional cost)
  • Option to join your guide for a party at the bar – enjoy VIP entrance with your DCT wrist band

Day 3: Banff to Valemount, BC

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Travel the Icefields Parkway and enjoy a number of sights
  • Visit Peyto Lake (weather permitting & seasonal)
  • Tour through the Columbia Icefields and option take part in the world renowned SnoCoach tour (additional cost)
  • Stop in the town of Jasper
  • Check in to your hotel in Valemount
  • Enjoy a cowboy ranch experience and BBQ dinner (included)

Day 4: Valemount to Vancouver

  • Enjoy Breakfast this morning and depart Valemount
  • Option to go on a River Safari Bear Tour in Blue River this morning
  • Visit Spahats Falls
  • Lunch stop in Clearwater
  • Rest stop in Hope
  • Return to Vancouver at approximately 7:30pm

How to Sign Up

Our activities are available to all current VIU Students. Sign up with the Cultural Connections Team in person in Building 255.

You will need to have your:

  1. Student card
  2. Proof of medical insurance (BC Care Card or Guardme Insurance Policy)
  3. Payment (credit card is the only form of payment taken by DC Tours)

Hours and Locations for Signing Up with Us

Lunchtime Activity Sign Up Booth Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm – 1pm in Building 255 - First Floor International Commons.

Individually Online - Note: Your pickup location will be different from those who sign up with the Cultural Connections Team.

Cancellations

You may cancel your tour at any time by notifying Discover Canada Tours at 1.855.689.8128.

If you cancel your overnight tour

More than 30 days in advance for tours that are 2-3 days in duration, a full refund will be applied minus a $50 non-refundable administrative fee per passenger. If you cancel within 30 days prior to departure, your tour is 100% non-refundable.

More than 60 days in advance for tours 4+ days in duration, a full refund will be applied minus a $50 non-refundable administrative fee per passenger. If you cancel within 60 days prior to departure, your tour is 100% non-refundable.

If you fail to show up at the meeting spot on time and miss the tour, no refund will be issued. Please check the map and transit schedule well in advance to ensure that you can get to the meeting spot on time.
